So Wa Wai is a former athlete from Hong Kong who has competed in the Paralympic Games five times. From his participation in the Paralympics, he has won 12 medals. Because of his many wins, people also call him the Wonder Boy.

He was born with jaundice that affected both his hearing and the balance of his legs, so he competed in the T36 classification for athletes with cerebral palsy. So's first Paralympic appearance was at the 1996 Atlanta Games, where he won gold in the men's 4×100 m relay team in the T34-37 classification. At the next two Summer Paralympic Games, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, So won four gold and two silver medals in a series of 400m individual events and two bronze medals in the relay.

In 2008, So was selected to take part in the torch relay as the Olympic flame passed through Hong Kong en route to Beijing. However, his own participation in the Olympics was called into question when his father's injury prevented him from working. He was therefore forced to drop out of school and take a full-time job to support his family.

Andy Lau helped him and got him a full-time job with the opportunity to practice at the games. Andy was a Hong Kong artist and singer of the official theme song of the Paralympics in Beijing Flying with the Dream. During the 2008 Summer Paralympics, he led Hong Kong's team to the Bird's Nest Stadium as the flag bearer during the opening ceremony. During the competition, he won his first bronze medal in the 100m and then finished sixth in the 400m.
